BW Fusion – Specialty Products Campus

Agriculture / Food | 20-Acre Development | 14-Month Timeline

Project

Overview

Steinberger Construction partnered with BW Fusion to develop the Specialty Products Campus in Logansport, Indiana—a cutting-edge industrial facility built from the ground up on a 20-acre farm field. This ambitious project was conceived not just to meet current operational needs, but to allow for future expansion and scalability in the rapidly growing specialty agriculture products sector.

The centerpiece of the campus is a 37,500-square-foot Butler® pre-engineered metal building, designed with structural allowances to double in size over time. Inside, a concrete containment pit was constructed to house eight 30,000-gallon tanks, while exterior tank containment systems accommodate an additional twelve tanks of the same volume.

Additional infrastructure includes a 13,000-square-foot post-frame structure, a 12,000-square-foot exterior containment pad, and a recessed loading dock—all supported by a complex underground stormwater management system, a retention pond, and infrastructure for future septic installation.

Safety

First

Given the storage and handling of explosive and hazardous materials, this project demanded an elevated level of safety oversight. Steinberger employed specialized containment construction techniques, conducted continuous on-site inspections, and coordinated closely with engineers and regulatory bodies to ensure full code and environmental compliance.

Built For

Performance

The entire facility was engineered for durability, safety, and adaptability. Specialized containment systems, structural floor reinforcement, and engineered site grading were used to support the safe storage and handling of volatile materials.

From fluid flow to equipment movement, every square foot of the site was designed to streamline operations while supporting stringent environmental and safety compliance. With growth in mind, all major systems and building structures were designed for future integration and expansion.

Partnership

In Action

BW Fusion’s ambitious vision for a modern specialty products facility required a construction partner capable of translating that vision into a high-functioning, future-ready campus. Steinberger’s leadership from site development through final turnover—combined with our ability to self-perform and manage technical complexity—delivered a project that sets the standard for high-performance agricultural infrastructure.
