The Subaru ED Overnight Storage Building is a two-story addition onto Subaru’s existing Lafayette manufacturing plant. The building was constructed of heavy conventional steel framing, insulated sandwich panel walls, and a membrane roofing system and houses a “hot work” room, a maintenance shop, and clean manufacturing space. The entire building was connected to the existing paint building, so no-spark equipment methods had to be used through the construction process. The project had a fast track schedule, the work site was very tight, and had to be completed during one of the harshest winters in recent history, yet our team met the challenge and completed the project ahead of schedule.
